_Just the girl I wanted to here from. Kodi is an awesome hunting dog. I took her out pheasant hunting 2 weeks ago. She hasn’t figured out the pointing yet but was flushing and retrieving like a pro. It was her very first time on wild pheasants and she loved it. I took her out on T-Day for snow geese, I think she was a little confused because we weren’t walking them up. She watches the sky better than any dog I have seen. Then she would run out after we shot the birds but wouldn’t pick them up. I think they were so big she wasn’t sure what to do with them. She will learn. She is a natural, she doesn’t range to far out and actually listens to me in the field. She is whistle trained and very very smart. Thanks for producing such a fine dog!

I just wanted to let you know how much we are enjoying Astro. He is truly a wonderful puppy! The Seeing Eye pup we raised they said was valued at $50,000.00 (after completing his training, which he did). His value is partly due to his very selective and careful breeding process, which ensured him the best possible genes. Well, we have had Astro over a month now and we comment every day that he has a better temperament and seems to be much smarter than our Seeing Eye pup! He has been much easier to train and to manage around the house. He also likes to chase and retrieve balls, which is something the other pup never liked to do. Housebreaking has also been easy. He is enrolled in a puppy kindergarten class which he attends every Monday night. He is the smartest of the 6 puppies there. He has a girlfriend “Daisy” a 4 month old yellow lab that he sits next to in class. I am also committed to having a “good” dog, so I give him about 4 training lessons each day – about 5-10 minutes each, so I am sure that this is helping. We received our first snow today – only about 1 inch, but he loved it! Also, we bought Astro his Christmas stocking today. It is green with an embroidered “A” on it, of course it will be hung in the middle of the fireplace and filled with tons of toys. We love spoiling him!
His favorite thing is to chase soccer balls with the kids in the backyard. He also brings in the newspaper each morning. He even managed to handle the big Thanksgiving issue! He loves it so much, and we only get one paper each morning, so sometimes I “plant” papers for him. I’ll separate the paper into a few sections and bag them in the newspaper bags and put them at the end of the driveway. You should see how excited he gets that he has a few to bring in! On our early morning walks he tries to bring in all of the neighbor’s papers too!

Oscar is doing Wonderful.. He’s the best puppy ever! Our last trip to work went well, he’s adapting well to veterinary life. He weighed in at 20.4 lbs at our first visit so they nick named him muffin top. Every one who has met him wants him and thinks he is beautiful. Jesse tolerates him most days, she still not completly sure about having a brother but she’s coming around. His favorite spot in in front of the fire place and in front of the refridgerator, he’s doing really well with his kennel training, but not so well with potty training, he’ll pick it up soon, I’m sure. We’re still not sleeping all night, but we only have to get up once or twice per night. Today was our first long walk, he did really well then he got tired and would stop and cry a little and kept going. We also had out Halloween party at work, a ton of people with their pets he was a big hit! He does so well with making friend, if only Jesse would cuddle with him……. I’ll keep ou posted on our progress, Let me know if you need anything!

Hi Michaela,
Sorry I missed your calls yesterday, did you get my message? And I got a message from you a few days ago(I’m not really good about messages) I still never got those sister pictures. She has been doing great, hasn’t been scared at all. Her temperament could not be more perfect. My husband was totally shocked, he came in the door and my puggle came running to him first and then “Mocha” came running around the corner to him with a red bow dragging behind her. It was priceless. He was so so so excited. I was shaking and starting tearing up because I could tell he was so happy. He said I was the best ever and he could not have picked out a better looking, better acting lab. He was talking about it with his brother on the car ride home, that he was bummed it would take a while before we found the right one. So nicely done!!! He was really impressed with all the paperwork you gave me, and I told him you had been calling for check ups on her, and he was really relieved. She whimpered three times last night, we traded off and she went back to bed pretty much immediately after she went. I hope it’s not three times every night, but it won’t last long I know. She’s been pretty good about Potty, she has made two pees and a poop this morning mainly because she didn’t want to stay outside with it raining long enough to goJ. I have caught her in the act each time and brought her outside so I think she’s learning. She was sitting by the door after breakfast this morning. She follows us around the house, but can’t get up the stairs yet so we help her with those. Harriett and her have been great, she is not afraid to show Harriett she wants a turn with the toys. She has not been eating for the 20 minute rule, mainly because she gets distracted. Have you been wetting her food? I have been, so maybe she prefers it dry. I’m heading home for lunch, hopefully she could hold it that long. I doubt she could. Thanks for everything, I’ll get some pictures soon. Rachel ———————————————————————————————————————–
We’re loving her to pieces. She already knows to ’sit’ and loves sleeping in her Condo. What a precious puppy. She’s going to our Vet tomorrow to get acquainted. Thanks for your call.Mary Jane…..
Michaela,Razz went to the vet yesterday for her shots and they said she was perfect! They all fell in love with her and didn’t want to give her back
They would have had a fight on their hands.
She weighs in at 13 pounds and everything was just fine. We received quite the puppy packet from them and I had taken in your folder and they absolutely loved that. The vet said she had never seen anything so wonderfully organized and detailed.
I thought the shots would make her not feel to good and she’d want to sleep - wrong, it spun her up and did we ever have fun last night - playing fetch and tearing around the house. It even spun Smudge up and she didn’t even ride into town for the vet visit!
I didn’t get out to get pictures this weekend as it rained on Saturday and snowed on Sunday. So we snuggled into the house for the weekend.
Have a great day!
Tammy
Drift is growing up too……Great looking lab.
LOOK HOW BOGEY HAS GROWN, WE ARE SO PROUD OF HIM……………………..
Just wanted to give you an update. As of the last time we had talked Dusty had a vet appointment scheduled but had not had it yet. I took him in on Friday and he has gained 25 pounds in the last 2 months. So he now weighs right at 75 pounds. The vet said he is in GREAT health and he had very good people that started him on his way. So he is impressed with you. Also Dusty is now completely housebroke (thank goodness). He is such a good boy, he is on a strict bedtime schedule and doesn’t like to veer off of it too much. The thing now is that we are trying to convince him that he is a dog and not a person. With all of this rain we have been keeping him in the house with us. When the rain broke the other day we had some errands to do and put him out in back. He whined and moaned until he go back in the house. Oh well, this will pass too with some work again, if it ever stops raining. Thanks again for the great dog,Russell and Joleigh
Digby
Hi Michaela, Here are some new pictures of Digby. As you can see he’s gotten a lot bigger and can be pretty silly at times. He’s doing well other than being a really big puppy and getting into puppy trouble. So I’m trying to do more obedience training with him and taking him for more walks.Elizabeth____________________________________________________
LOOK HOW SASSY HAS GROWN INTO SUCH A GORGEOUS LADY. SHE IS AT HOME IN COLORADO BUT AS YOU CAN SEE SHE DOES ALOT OF TRAVELING. SHE DOESNT LOOK SPOILED DOES SHE? SASSY IS OUT OF BELLA’S 2006 LITTER.___________________________________________________________
Hi there! Kodi is doing just great. She’ll be 6 months on May 28. Since she got spayed, she’s calmed down a little bit. We also got a PetSafe invisable fence that allows her to go 90 feet out, away from the house in all directions. It has been a miracle! She was getting so brave that she’d go dashing across the road to our neighbors house. One — we didn’t want her bothering the neighbor and barking, etc, and, two — we didn’t want her to get hit by a car. Granted, we live on a dirt/gravel road in the country, but we get our share of traffic. She is just wonderful with the kids and Aubrey and Cole just love her to pieces. She’s very coordinated and likes to have a toy in her mouth that she can hit a tennis ball around with, along with patting it with her paws. She’s almost too smart for her own good. Haven’t had too many potty accidents, which is great. In fact, it’d been over a month before she had a poo accident inside — and that was my fault because she was due to go out, but I lost track of time. Aside from that, she is SUCH a good girl! We are so happy she’s a part of our family.____________________________________________________________This is Dusty at Home in Winfield Kansas. He is from Fergie and Buzz.
Micheala, here are some more recent pictures of Dusty. He is growing so much. We got him a bandana and he seems to really like it. It adds to his character. He has gained more weight and steadily filling out. If we can be any reference to you for anyone else just let us know. You can give out our e-mail and/or phone numbers. We would be more than happy to refer you to people. Talk to you later,

Hi Michaela,
I apologize it has taken me so long to write you back. I have been waiting until Christopher downloads the most recent pictures of Bogey, but the days keep passing. I promise to send some soon. I want you all to see how beautiful he is - not to mention how loving! Bogey adores Christopher and lives to be with his “daddy”.
I am a little sad to say that he is leaving for a few months to go off to training so he can hunt with Christopher. After some research, Christopher has talked with the trainer at Wolf Creek Retrievers and Bogey will be off to camp next month. We will miss him while he is gone, but fortunately the trainer is only an hour away so we will be able to go there on the weekends to train with him (well, Christopher to train - I will be there to love on him and play!).
Bogey definitely has Bob’s size (weighing now at about 94 pounds) and Bella’s beautiful coat. He still loves to lay on your feet and thinks he is still small enough to be carried. Bogey loves being in the water and thinks the water hose is the best invention!
I promise to send pictures but could not go another day without responding.
I hope all is well - give our best to everyone!
Sincerely,
Mary Thornton

Malibu is getting so big. I took her in a week and half ago to get shots. She got her rabbies shot so now she has a tag that she wears on her collar and its funny to watch her try to get it when it makes noises. She weighed 32 lbs at 18 weeks…crazy! I took her home for the weekend and she did very well. She has learned that she has to get my attention to let her out. But potty training is going very well and she still sleeps in her kennel every night and just walks right in when I say bed time. I think she has a fear that I’m going to leave her and not come back if I go behind a closed door or walk out of sight. She has to be by me all the time which I love except when she cries because she can’t see me or be right next to me. My mom and I tried keeping her fenced in half of my backyard where a fence already exist and we had to make some adjustments since she could get under the gate to the rest of the yard. And every time we went inside it only was a matter of mins that she was out and heading to find me. She can some how squeeze through the smallest space. She is a blast to play with and she even got a new stuffed animal this weekend that was mine when I was younger. Its a large pink bunny…well the energizer bunny and she acts like she is the energizer bunny…just keeps going and going. Well she takes it every where and it fun to watch her play with it since its her size. My oldest brother got to meet her for the first time and really likes her. She even listens to him when he tells her commands. My mom, him and I went golfing sat evening and took her with us. She would watch me hit every shot and couldn’t take her eyes off me. She even wanted to come with me when I got out of the cart but she learned that she had to stay with my mom and watch from there. Other than that she is doing very well and I’m trying to teach her some more obedience. If you have any tips I would greatly appreciate them. She is a very smart dog and I love her to death!!Ashley Williams

Hi! I have to say, Kodi has turned into a WONDERFUL lab — family member is more like it! She is so tolerant of the kids, it’s unreal to me. Our 4 year old son sits/bounces on her, pulls her tail and drags her, pinches, chokes … you name it, he does it, and boy does Kodi put up with it well! Of course, once we catch him picking on Kodi, we stop it, but she never does a thing — not even a grumpy look. She’s doing very well in the house and is pretty much potty trained. Actually, I can’t remember when her last accident was. At this point, the only thing that “bugs” us is when we’re done playing and she’s not and she’ll BEG for more attention. With the hot weather, she’s been inside almost 24/7. She’ll still chase a ball all day long if we can get ourselves outside, but we make sure she’s got lots of fresh water at all times. We still put her in her kennel if we leave the house just because she can still get into mischief with finding things to chew on that she shouldn’t when we’re not looking. But we know that will pass given time.Shawn is ready to get her out hunting — that’s for sure! And we know she’ll love it. He keeps some pheasant wings in the deep freeze and pulls them out on occassion … you want to see a lab go nuts, that would be Kodi the minute he takes them out to toss! It’s going to be fun! Thanks for checking in!~ Christy Mahaffey
