Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

Here are some of the questions new puppy families have asked me in emails I will add to this list if other good questions are asked. Remember there are no stupid questions. We treat adopting a Red Diamond puppy as a family member just like your adopting a human baby and we take this process very seriously.

1. What do you wean your puppies on and what food will they come home on?

We wean and feed Purina One Large breed puppy food.

2. How much are your puppies

Our puppies are priced depending on the litter. In some litters a puppy may be mismarked or have an issue like an overbite, or other cosmetic problem, those puppies could be discounted depending on the severity of the issue. Puppies like humans are not always perfect… In order to go on our waiting list you must fill out our puppy questioner to be approved. We will ask for a deposit of $500.00 to hold your puppy when the puppies are born. Each puppy is identified by different color collared when they are born the color of the collars never change so you can watch a particular puppy grow.

3. Do you send videos of the puppies to the families that are on the wait list and live out of state so they can see how the puppies interact with each other and with people to help them in their decision?-

Yes here some examples of what a nursery page looks like from start to finish.

4. If we were to purchase one of your puppies, what would you think would be the best way for us to bring him home?

We would love for you to pick your pup up in person but if your not able some people choose to fly in we meet you at the airport with the puppy and you can fly home with your puppy under the seat or the puppy can fly solo to you and you will pick the puppy up in Cargo at your airport this cost is $400.00 for a solo flight. There is more information about flying on my website here is the link…

5. Will pups be acclimated to car riding before we pick them up?

Usually Not. My vet comes here to do vet checks because I am a freak about them leaving my property due to diseases. They pretty much live in a bubble into they leave me. We give the first set of vaccinations at 6 weeks and then you will have your vet do the 9 week vaccination. We want you to pretty much keep them in a bubble until they are fully vaccinated. On the way home don’t stop at roadside rest areas this is where everyone stops to let their dogs do their business and is very contaminated and unsafe for puppies. Find a place secluded to stop. When you take him to the vet take in your own towel and place it on the exam table never on the floor of the vet’s office. Where do sick pets go? To the vet. I don’t care how clean it looks. No dog parks or walks until fully vaccinated.

6. Will pups have waded in a shallow kiddy pool to acclimate to water?

Yes. In the outdoor play area the pups have a pool. You will see this when you come.

7. What kind of guarantee do you give on your puppies?

8. What amount of crate training will be done and will the puppy be separated from the litter for short lengths of time?

None- but will have been away from mom for about a week prior to them leaving us. They are raised in a puppy house with indoor outdoor access with a puppy door by the time they are 6 weeks old they know to go outside to do their business. Although there is a crate inside the puppy area so they are familiar with it, most of the puppies usually spend a lot of time sleeping in it does not have a door on it .Our puppy house is newly remodeled I think you will be very impressed when you come. It has ceramic tile floors tons of toys the outside area has an agility course type play equipment with artificial turf and concrete to play on. At 6 weeks old each puppy gets one on one play time away from the rest of the litter in the grass in front of the puppy house so they are acclimated to different surfaces and sounds. They will also get play with my adult dogs at this time. They have a 32 inch flat screen TV that is on all day until night time and lights out time around 8pm. These will be very socialized puppies .Not only Titan my 12 year old son but we have numerous kids that come and play with them. They will also be started on NuVET vitamins we recommend you purchase these prior to bringing your puppy home but of course you don’t have to. We love them. I will send you an email with the benefits of these. In your take home puppy package there will be some in there about a weeks worth. They are great for building their immune system.
