What kind of toys do you recommend?
I put my labs playing skills to the ultimate test. After a year of testing these were proved to be some of the adult labs and puppies favorites and we will let you know why.
I looked for Durability, Interactive, innovative, and something my labs just didn’t get bored with.
Some of the products in the Welcome home baskets are targeted for the puppies and some are better suited for as they grow.
I narrowed it down to 3 companies.

Of course the popular Kong toys and other name brand toys are out there but to be real honest those aren’t a huge hit with my labs. These baskets will be available when you pick up your puppy or if you puppy is flying to his new family they will arrive prior to his arrival. These are optional you DON’T have to purchase one for your new puppy we just felt that you will be going to Pet smart or other puppy places to purchase toys for your new arrival and we thought we’d help with some of the tough decisions on what to buy. These baskets are priced at $60.00 to new puppy owners, if you bought each item retail they would total way over $100.00.
What’s included:
Hedgehog Squeaker mat-
This Mat is a must have from Red Diamond Labs. We will actually put mom & siblings scent on this soft mat so your new puppy has familiar scents from his 1st home. This comforts your new puppy during his/her first few weeks at its new forever home.
What we like is it’s an innovative toy that has multiple squeakers inside each mat its soft and the puppy can cuddle and carry it around. It has kept our adult labs entertained for hours by squeaking anywhere they touch it!
Fire Hose Double Tennis Ball Medium
This durable toy is made from the same tough, durable material that firemen use. Consists of a rubber lining and multiple layers of tightly-woven fabric. This provides excellent resistance to abrasion and superior strength for a dog toy! Great for chewing.
Hard Boiled Softies Huey Hedgehog Large
This egg-shaped critter may look soft, but it’s hard enough to stand up to the most aggressive chewers! The secret to its surprising sturdiness is a thick, durable rubber shell under its soft plush exterior. Includes a loud squeaker “yolk” for extra fun! What we like about this toy is that its heavier than most toys and as the puppy grows it will learn how to carry waterfowl or large birds with a soft touch if they bite down to hard it will squeak(loudly) this is when you correct them during training to hold soft.
Great squeaky, squiggly fun plus a tennis ball double-stitched into the middle for extra durability! Just a neat toy, my labs to play tug o war with it.
Our labs love to play with and tug these stretchable toys, just like a bungee cord. Soft and durable with extra strong seams, plus a squeaker and rattle in each toy. Junior Bungee’s stretch an average of 10 to 15 inches. Fun for kids and their new puppy to play gentle tug o war.
Puppy Trainer
Another must have from Red Diamond Labradors. Use the Puppy Trainer Fetch Stick to teach come, fetch, hold and carry. Use alone or attach a training rope. My labs LOVE these, trust me on this. Made of the same tough, durable Firehose as the Fire Hose Double Tennis Ball Medium. Consists of a rubber lining and multiple layers of tightly-woven fabric. Puppies love the size of these fits perfectly in their mouths.
Meteorlight K-9 -- L.E.D. Dog Ball
Whether your schedule prevents you from exercising your labs during the day, or you just prefer carousing with him or her at night, the tennis ball-sized Meteorlight K-9 is the perfect exercise toy. Push the button, the LED light begins its steady glow, and you can both see what you’re doing and have fun doing it. Perfect for romps in the yard after sundown, or, if you’re both craving a little socialization, take it to the dog park at night, turn it on, and watch the interested human/dog crowd form around you both! Bright, durable, and water resistant, the Meteorlight floats and comes with two long-life, easily replaced batteries. These fit perfectly in the Chuck-it ball launcher.

You will only receive the spotlit in your pkg but a gift certificate for the personalized collar to redeem any time in your labs life. Most families wait until their pup is a few months old.
Like most of you I have tried endlessly to find the best toys suitable for our labs. Its always like Christmas morning when I bring home a new toy for the girls to play with. I have spent hundreds of dollars on toys that catch my eye at Pet-Co or Walmart or some expensive doggie boutique. Unfortuately most of these eye catchers last only a few days and if Im lucky a week. So my quest for this year is to find the most unique toughest (Lab Proof) toys that I can share not only with my own labs but the families that buy our puppies and other Lab owners. One of the biggest questions when a family is getting ready to take home their new fourlegged bundle of joy is- What kind of toys do you recommend? I used to say some type of Kong Toy, but to be honest only there are only a few of the kongs that my labs actually play with for more than a day or 2.
Keep in mind NO toy is indestructable but there are toys out there that are more durable than others. You must remember that you have to teach a dog that the world is NOT their oyster or a chew toy. These toys are to be used for training,interacting ect. These toys are amazingly durable when used as an interactive toy.The Toys we are recommending are not found at Big Chain stores. You can order them from us on our site or you can find some of these at a few other sites of course we would love for you to buy them from us that way we will stand behind them because these are products that have made it through the true test of our Labs.
I have found buying a Dog toy is alot like buying a pair of shoes. You get what you pay for thats for sure. You can go to a retail chain and buy the cheap $20.00 pair of tennis shoes for your kids and they fall apart in a month or 2 or you can buy them a name brand shoe that lasts 4x as long. Same goes for Dogtoys. The bottom line is you get what you pay for.
